I was a bit worry after I put deposit for the wallpaper with Montella, as I read some negative comments about the company. Except for the "not so pleasant" face from their staff, I considered myself for being lucky to have my wallpaper fixed at the designated timing without problem. The wallpaper has been pasted on the wall of my master bedroom and the wall of my dining area, so far no problem.

Although wallpaper is hard to maintain, but I must say it has created a classy look to my master bedroom. I shall also post its picture on the dining area when I have one.

After checking from the internet, I bought 4 fanco ceiling fans for my house. Three 52 inch fans for my bedrooms and one 56 inch fan for my living room.
I bought the fans from Royal Fanco, although his price is slightly higher than the quote I got from an online seller, his 52 inch fans are great buy at $165 per fan only inclusive of the nergy saving bulb daylight. For review on Royal Fanco, click here.
The reasons I chose Fanco over other brands are:
1) Cheap
2) Better design
3) The detachable lights are also in better design and cheaper
4) Generally durable
5) Acceptable R.P.M. (something to do with the spinning speed), all my fanco fans can work on level 1 speed, I do hear complains on other brand where the level 1 give no wind at all, so do check out the RPM speed before buying your ceiling fan, I'm sure you don't want to buy a fan with 3 levels speed but only level 3 can be used.

The design and colour of the fan match the design of my bedroom very well.

The price for Fanco fan is very reasonable, for just slightly more than $100, you get a ceiling fan in working condition and it is lasting.
Out of the four fans, only one fan has given me problem. It made noise whenever the fan is on, but is my fault not to call the agent immediately, I called the agent only after 9 months of using, although it is still within the warranty, I need not pay for the spare parts, but i have to pay for the transport and labour at $40. The repair man told me I should have called them in the first 3 months, whereby I do not need to pay a single cent to get them to rectify the problem. So a lesson learned here is, problem must be rectified early.
The after sales service from Fanco is good and acceptable. I have called them to my house twice, the first one being the incident described above, where the motor of the fan was spoilt, I paid $40 for transport and labour (as transport and labour is not part of warranty), the second time I called them because I still hear noise after the fan is repaired, and this time round I did not pay a single cent as it was within 3 mths after the first repair. However, the second visit turn out unnecessary as the noise was from the lights which were loose, the man help me to screw up firmly which solved the problem :)
Although the second visit was not because of the deficiency of the fan, the man gave me another slip and told me that the 3 months extended warranty after repair will count from the date of the second visit. I was delighted about this :)
Overall, I like my Fanco fans as they are really value for money.

I just found out that Fanco fan provides life time warranty to its fan motor :)

No, I have a full length TV feature wall with console custom made in my living room, I do not want this bulky fixture in my master bedroom. I want a specious bedroom, thus the lesser furniture the better.
Many people told me I cannot just hang my TV like that, but I give it a try. I get my contractor to fix the power point in the middle of the wall, where my TV will be. My 29 inch Sharp had been mounted there for a year, so far so good, no falling off.


It was mounted on the wall, beside the entrance to my toilet in my master bedroom. A clean and sharp arrangement. No extra space taken.


Even the person mounting the TV for me told me might not be able to do this, I told him just give it a try, and roll up the wire at the back of the TV, as long as I don't see them.


Yes, those wires do get dusty over the time, but who cares? You don't get to see them, and cleaning is not a problem if you want to.


So if you ask me, "Do I need to buy a console in my room? Do I need to build a feature wall?" The answer is no!

I did not post up a picture of my wall mirror but some has been asking me, so here you go the picture, which was taken last year before I moved in.

My design was a full length mirror, done by a Msia contractor. But because the length cannot fit into my lift and I do not want to pay extra for bringing it up from staircase, I accepted my contractor's suggestion to join it at the bottom by 2 pieces of mirror. It is not noticeable from the picture, and anyway there'll be tables and chairs in front of the mirror, which will block the joining line, thus I think it is also a good way to save my money. (full length mirror is much more expensive than joint mirror)
The size of the mirror is very big, many friends were overwhelmed by my living hall when they first entered my house, credits go to this mirror. So I would think it is a good buy.

It was designed by myself after copy here and there from magazine. I like the design because it is simple and clean. Initially I wanted to use white solid surface to give it a whole white kitchen, but I decided on black colour, thinking it'll be easier to maintain. But I was wrong!
Never never choose black colour if your key concern is "easy" to maintain, of course you can still choose it if you want to have the "style", but then, bear in mind of the maintainance, why?
Solid surface looks like granite, but it is not granite, it is molded into the shape that fit your kitchen top, the colour of the material is actually yellowish or white. It is very prompt to scratches, a spoon, chopstic, or pot left on the table can cause scratches. When it has scratches, you'll see many obvious white lines, your solid surface will soon be covered by all these lines!
Look at the solid surface what most hospitals are using, they are using white, no noticeable scratches, that's the reason behind......

I guess many have the same problem as me, too many accessories to buy for Kitchen and Toilet, and no idea which one to buy and where to buy. I search around renotalk and Singaporebride forum, found that most people prefer to go just a single shop that can shop for all the necessary stuff at cheap price, everyone just don't like to go through the hassle of going from one shop to another for price comparison, if you're also this kind of person, I'll suggest a place for you, go 'Jalan Besar'!
Royal Fanco has quite a good review on the forum, so I headed to the shop on one of the weekends. I notice that most shops in Jalan Besar has very good or reasonable price tag on their display, without much bargain needed. Previously I visited "Xin SJ" at IMM, the price tag seem much higher and the salesperson are not helpful at all, I still don't know what should I buy after I left there.
Royal Fanco is a very small shop along Jalan Besar, when i first step in I was quite reluctant to ask the boss there. The boss Henry approached us and I told him generally the things i might be buying, he then introduced his items one by one. Overall my shopping experience there was present, I was quite surprise he has everything that I need there, and he can actually store so many things in his little shop space! E.g when I mentioned about toilet bowl, he'll show me the package available which include the toilet bowl and basin at promo price of $330, then he'll tell me I need to buy the toilet bowl offset cost $12, then the basin tap, toilet roll hanger, towel hanger, shower set and etc. After I finished choosing my toilet accessories, then we moved on to kitchen which he'll do the same, by introducing the different items i need and show me different materials for me to choose. When i mentioned about Fan, he also recommended those on promotion to me, when i told him the quote i got from other seller, he even told me honestly my quote is very cheap and can get from that seller.
Like others commented on the forum, he's quite helpful, I spent about 2 hours there and bought about $3,200 worth of items from him, he absorbed the GST, and gave me 2 toilet brush FOC, but didn't give me any discount even though I tried to bargain.
I set a delivery date of 8 Oct for him, but my contractor later requested the delivery to be earlier, I called Henry and he arranged for me, my items delivered on the earlier date without any problem.
Even though he did not give me discount, but I believe in what he said his price is already discounted. Today I saw a similar stainless steel double towel hanger at TPY around $48, which I got from Henry at $32 only.
My rating for his shop and his service is 4 out of 5 stars, I strongly recommend you go to his shop for your accessories shopping, even if you're not going to his shop, do buy from other shops along Jalan Besar, prices for those shops in the shopping mall is at least 30% more expensive!

Good Service Update:
Royal Fanco delivered the items to my contractor earlier per our request, the workers said they've checked the items but after installation (more than a week later) some items were missing. After given Henry a call, there was only one item they missed out deliver while the other 2 mentioned by my contractor I did not bought at that time. Henry delivered the missing item together with the new item required by my contractor in the afternoon. He did not collect the money on delivery for the additional item but told me to pay when i have time to go down his shop or mail him the cheque instead. I find his service is very good, and he resolved the issue promptly. When my contractor called to say there're items missing, I was like, "Oh no", is very hard to argue with the seller as someone did check the items and signed the DO, but Henry is very good and honest in telling me that they indeed miss out one item and offer to deliver the item immediately.
Again, thumbs up for Royal Fanco!
